Basketball is one of my favorite sports. Lots of people play it because all you really need is a ball. I have a basketball net in my front yard I play basketball occasionally but when I do I usually stay out for a while. When I play I usually just shoot hoops unless someone’s over then I play 21.
My favorite NBA team is the Golden State Warriors. What’s yours? I think their best player is Stephen Curry, Steph Curry for short. He’s number 30 and has played there for a number of years. He has helped them win twoNBA Championships in 2014/15 and 2016/17.
I’m hoping that I can play basketball at school this year because its a lot of fun to play although I’m pretty small and not that good. That’s all for now and see you soon.
Baseball is my favorite sport, I like watching and playing it. I hope to be on a team this year.
Baseball is a team sport that you are trying to hit the ball out of the park. If you do, you get to go around all the bases, and everyone on a base gets to go too. Every player that passes home plate gets a point for their team.
When one team is batting the other is catching and trying to get three players out. To get an out you have to either get three strikes, catch the ball before it hits the ground, get the ball to the base before the player does, or just tag him out.
There are nine innings and an inning ends once both teams have pitched and got three players out.
Zoom! Connor McDavid is one of the fastest players in the the NHL. He is also one best NHL players over all in the 2017/18 season. So if he gets a breakaway it’s a 99% chance he’ll score and if he scores he cellies. A celly is when after a goal the player throws their hands in the air or slideson the ice. Connor McDavid is 20 years old and he has played for the Edmonton Oilers all his career, since 2015. Connor squeezed 100 points out of the 2016/17 season.
Connor McDavid is creative because he makes up his own dekes and dangles around every one. McDavid thinks outside the box to get around players, which allows him to get the shot away. He is also one of the best at passing because he knows where everyone is on the ice, he doesn’t need to look to pass so the other team doesn’t expect it.
McDavid is a risk taker because he is always going hard to the net. In his first season in the NHL he got slammed into the boards and broke his collarbone while going hard to the net. But he is still going hard to the net today and that is how he gets most of his goals.
McDavid is strategic because he works smart by practicing hard and playing harder. He also watches plays that he did to help him to see what he did right and what he did wrong and to improve as a player.
Some of the things we can learn from McDavid is to have perseverance and never give up because that helps you to succeed. Sometimes taking risks makes you get better.
In this picture I see a snowy day, where the air is crisp and clear. I Imagine the only thing you can hear is a quiet crunch, crunch, crunch from the lynxe’s soft paws. I wonder where he’s come from? Where he’s going? I wonder if he’s done this route before? Or if other lynx have done it before?
My name is Jaben, I am 11 years old and in grade 6. I live in Comox, B.C. Canada. It’s a really good place to live because there are forests all around.
I like sports. My favorite sport is mountain biking. It is a great place to live if you like mountain biking because Cumberland is one of the best places to mountain bike in the world, I think! I enjoy playing baseball as well, but I like to watch hockey. I like soccer too and I play every lunch and recess at school. I also do taekwondo and I have a green belt, working on blue stripe. My next test is coming up in November, by then I should have my blue stripe.
I like mountain biking and fishing with my Dad, and basketball with my 10 year old sister (because she’s easy to beat). Mom and I like playing geography games. We all like water sports. This summer we did knee boarding, wakeboarding and tubing, they are a lot of fun. If you get the chance to you should try them.
I’ve listed a few of my favorite sports, what are yours?
